City resident since 1986 when he came to the United States to attend the FIT and
Gemological Institute of America, Robin Rotenier’s European heritage and Parisian
upbringing is evident in his elegantly crafted collections. Inspired by ancient Egyptian,
medieval and renaissance art and historical motifs, his designs are a well-balanced blend
of the classical with a modern interpretation. Robin Rotenier is applauded equally for his
innovative use of materials, hand finishes and superb craftsmanship. To this day, each wax
model for each new Rotenier, Ltd. design is meticulously hand-carved. His designs are
reproduced by highly skilled artisans and expert stone setters working primarily in
sterling silver and 18 karat gold, with semi-precious stones, white sapphires, and
cultured Tahitian saltwater and freshwater pearls. The results are Rotenier collections
that have a distinctive hand-made character. Robin Rotenier designs are highly versatile, appropriate for almost any social occasion from casual to evening. His design range flows from the romantic to the sleekly modern. At opposite ends of his design spectrum are the medieval Crown collection which includes a necklace, earrings and pendant set centered on exquisite Japanese Akoya pearls; and his contemporary Globe collection which features cabochon blue topaz stones set in sterling silver. The Globe collection, pendant and studs, are also available in frosted amethyst, frosted peridot and white topaz. The Bee collection, inspired by Napoleon’s Royal Bees (the house of Bonaparte) features pavé set white sapphires in either sterling silver or 18 karat gold, also in pendant and studs.
