Gilda Westermann was apprenticed as a potter in Germany and worked for a variety of potters in Ireland before earning her ceramics degree at the University of Westminster. Her ceramic compositions are inspired by her love for simplicity and balance as well as her fascination with line and space. After shaping her porcelain forms on the wheel, Westermann bisque fires and coats them with a transparent glaze.
