Born in Israel, Atara Baker traveled and studied art in Italy, France, England and the U.S. before devoting ten years of her life to South Africa. Living in Johannesburg through the 1970s, Baker was profoundly affected by the native tribes and fascinating cultures. Now living in the U.S., Baker continues to reveal her ties to Africa in her mixed-media paintings.
