 My primary interest is to explore aesthetic ideas where representation and abstraction meet.
A long time student of Tai Chi, Christopher Kressy has found a holistic center that provides inspiration from the quiet and peace of his inner self. Working with oil on canvas, Kressy creates abstract and lushly painted landscapes. His rich colors are the result of a wet and loaded paintbrush moving across the canvas to create light and hue. Lines are often inscribed with the back of his brush to further reveal the energy and expression of these rhythmic exercises in color and light. |
