Though the medium commonly varies, McGinnis admits that all of her artwork maintains a strong sense of drawing. Her skill and accuracy has often led to the label of a photo-realist, but she avoids using such terminology herself. For McGinnis, the oversize canvas, dramatic palettes and realistic representations are purely a product of her attempts to render the common uncommon. |
