For Thomas Hölzer, one mode of expression is clearly not enough. As a glass designer, painter and mosaicist, he is able to create a richly varied body of work that explores his experiences, imagination and creativity. Each medium is influenced and inspired in a distinct way for Hölzer. Painting is often his freest expression, where ideas are layered and built up with pencil, pastel or acrylic paint until the anticipated result is achieved. His mosaics have recently been closely tied to his travels along the rivers of the American southwest. Finally, his glass is most closely linked to his imagination and 20 years of experience in art glass design. |
